Born Free Dialogues

Through Born Free Dialogues, parents and children are supported through a facilitated process to talk about sex, healthy sexuality, HIV prevention and other sensitive issues affecting adolescents such as alcohol and drug abuse. Parents are also assisted to take interest in their children’s lives, so that they may be able to influence them positively.

In a Born Free Dialogue, a lovelife facilitator presents a theme, and families discuss and decide on what specific issues they would like to talk about related to the theme. The role of facilitators is to ask questions, listen, ask participants to reflect on the different issues shared and facilitate decision-making. Facilitators use role playing, games, story-telling, value-sharing, decision-making and planning tools to stimulate discussion and action.
