loveLifestyle
Through sustained face-to-face interaction with our community-based peer mobilisors (groundBREAKERs and Mpintshis), young people receive direct and personalised information and support to lead healthy, positive lives through the following programmes:
- lovingLife
lovingLife is loveLife’s ‘personal discovery’ programme for youth. The programme is composed of modular programme that takes young people through a journey of self-discovery while motivating them to believe in themselves, to set goals and to build on their talents and strengths as a means of addressing and dealing with difficult life transitions. lovingLife also consists of a participant's handbook that young people can use as a reference when having to make difficult decisions. The programme is offered in more than 800 communities across South Africa.

- Body-Ys Healthy Sexuality
Body-Ys Healthy Sexuality is loveLife’s ‘health and wellness’ programme for youth. It is composed of modular sessions and interactive fitness, sports and recreation activities. Together, these components encourage young people to value, evaluate and manage their health. Comprehensive information about sexual and reproductive health, including HIV/Aids and prevention of unwanted pregnancy, is contextualised in this programme as part of a young person’s overall goal to live a positive and healthy ‘loveLife-Style’.
- Debate
Debate is loveLife’s ‘communication skills building’ programme for youth. It is composed of modular sessions and activities that encourage young people to openly talk about the issues that affect their lives, including HIV/Aids. Participants learn how to conduct research on a particular issue, how to compile this information to support their argument and how to effectively communicate their perspectives. These are the skills that are necessary to spark a social movement, where young people can credibly inform their peers, families and communities about the benefits of living a ‘loveLife-Style’.
- Body-Ys Sports and Recreation
loveLife offers young people a variety of sports and recreational activities, including soccer, netball, volleyball, basketball, cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Ultimate Dance and Centre Stage (drama). These activities are designed to encourage young people to value, evaluate and manage their health, fitness and nutrition. The programme is implemented together with Healthy Sexuality content and activities.
